Big picture guide to content marketing

Big picture guide to content marketing

Content Engine is a State-of-the-Art Content Automation Platform

There is no fool who buys content written by “all pros”. Sure, they might just be experts and have a sincere love for their products and services, but they’re also just plain clueless. If you want to drive more sales and sales cycles on the products and services you want to sell, you have to hire the top people in your industry. They’re actually a smarter marketing team than you are. In fact, if you want to put your startup in the best position possible to own the market, you need to get a head start and create content for the self-help, community and health & wellness markets. Unlike most people who get their start through traditional advertising or website design, most entrepreneurs start their businesses for the first time with social media. No one likes to advertise and Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat have done it so right.

At a minimum, you need to have a strong presence on all of these channels, especially in the paid media space. Over time, that becomes an essential part of the marketing mix for your startup. Social media is a rockstar and it’s definitely something to keep in mind. Content Marketing is the best bet. There are so many great online publishing opportunities to choose from. There are startups that are killing it using book writing services and others using podcasting.

There are excellent corporate publishers out there that offer content marketing and many more excellent news publishers out there. One of the great ways to stand out in the sea of publishing is to create content for the communities you want to serve. Startup

You can create content for any niche or industry you want. If your startup is going to publish, it’s going to be focused on community and health & wellness. If your startup is a real estate agent and you’re a real estate agent with a niche practice, you can create a lot of content around small business owners who are having a lot of success in finding homes in the area. You don’t have to reach that sort of client base just yet, but you want to have the right content in place to naturally speak to them.

What you need to do is pick a good community platform. It might look like a Really Interesting Blog or it might look like content writing services like PledgePost. These platforms are the start of online publishing that you can control on your own. You can create, curate and monitor your content to determine what works best for your company. Most of the online publishing options we’ve listed below really work well in two different areas — community and health & wellness. Community

The biggest problem with content on your website is the lack of audience engagement. You can’t reach the audience you want if they aren’t there.

Without real engagement, you don’t get the emails, social media shares, Google searches, and Google page hits you’d like to get from your content. Social media is how you get real engagement. If you don’t have the fans or followers to use the platforms to share your content, how are you going to get engagement from them? The real answer is that they will use your content because it’s there. In fact, according to Compete, almost 60% of a wide-range of internet users self-identify as “engagement junkies”. Those users would be so engaged on Instagram, that when the app came to an end, they would hop on to other platforms such as Facebook.

Which brings us to the next point. Humans have a deeper innate desire to engage and share. The more people interact with a content that they create, the more likely they are to engage with more content you create. And that’s the biggest issue with your website right now. Content Marketing for Content Marketing ’s Audience

Content creators earn money on social and content marketing platforms. The question then becomes: What should I be putting on these platforms to sell more of my stuff? You can use any of these platforms, however your expertise is going to show most prominently.

You want people looking at your content and thinking: I have to buy my product or service because of what that content said. I have to click that link because of what that content said. How Content Marketing Works

Content marketing means creating, curating and publishing content that shows your expertise and followers your expertise. More importantly, content marketing is a way to tell people what you know and are passionate about and what you know and are passionate about sharing. It’s a way to connect with your audience because the communities you are building are ones that have a strong need.

And what do your customers want? They want to be excited about it, to come to you for the answers, and they want to know what you have to offer.

The best way to begin that relationship is with those highly relevant and compelling content pieces that address their problem at their fingertips. Be great at delivering. Great at delivering. Most of us already know how to deliver customer experience. Creating content that focuses on helping customers and promoting your business and selling your product or service gives you a new voice and one that you can leverage and be more visible on and better known by. Sharing is better than promoting, and the best companies don’t do a bad job at creating content.

Someone or something that amplifies your message will give your brand even more credibility and allow your audience to see just how awesome you are. To get a better feel for what content you should produce, consider what you sell already and how that content lives within that line of work. Best practices for producing great content

I hate to use the word “great” more than once here in this blog, and I don’t believe that I’m saying you need to create the greatest content piece in the world, but rather that you should create the best content that is relevant to your business. A lot of people post this, but here’s a quick exercise you can use to see if what you publish is what people who are interested in your products and services are looking for. Choose 3 posts on a topic that you are passionate about and have nothing to lose in making it your own. Writing down the things you love and want to say and posting a side-by-side caption that highlights what makes you passionate is better than posting one blog post in response to everything that is being said in social media. You don’t have to post everything on your site. You just have to share the things that are important to you or your business.

Content that doesn’t actually serve your business doesn’t really need to be shared and if you are just focusing on writing about what you do all the time, people will go to your website and just read about what you do. Do a content audit, and examine your content like you would with any part of your marketing. If people are not finding what they are looking for, include it in your content audit and make sure it is up to date. Avoid comments. Nothing worse than users wanting your company name as a comment, and then you are inundated with Twitter and DMs from people asking for your company name.
