One of our favorite new features in Fortnite on season 5 is the Floating Island, a place where players could discover new PvE treasure in between main Battle Royale matches.

Since season 5, when players received this island, they were largely disappointed in the lack of players. The new update, patch 10.20, has finally added the Floating Island, and while the game is only allowing 1 match per island, fans have been happy to have it. The island is hidden in the middle of a specific location on the map, and players can discover a floating island by switching weapons.

With many challenges having players search and collect item “bouts” in various areas throughout the season, finding a new item is rewarded with Battle Stars. With the island, players don’t have to sit around waiting for the Battle Star and can now interact with the island even when going elsewhere in the map. This is great if someone finds the island nearby, but doesn’t have the gear to get to it.

Also added is the powerful Zapper Trap. The trap can kill trapped players on screen or cause damage from across the map, and as when trying to use your shield, gamers have to be incredibly careful when using it.

Patch Notes for Fortnite’s October 17 game update released by Epic Games. The update now offers the Floating Island, new Bludgeon, and changes to the Epic Dusty Divot, where enemies now appear extra clear during matchmaking. The Arctic Spare Spot also has been added, along with new Private Match Favorites.

Fortnite is a game played with action-oriented gameplay as players battle the evil forces of Lord Shifty and are opposed by dreaded forces like the Void, Wrecking Crew, Fallen Hunters, Storm King, and Thanos. The game allows up to 100 players per match to build-in great environments for other players to make their own kills in battle. The game has been a massive success since its release in July 2017, but what do you think about it? Do you think it will ever cross the billion-download mark? Are you a Fortnite fan?
