Blizzard’s juggernaut online shooter Overwatch is coming to Nintendo Switch, Blizzard has announced today. The game, which became the best-selling first-person shooter in the history of the industry over the weekend, will be out in autumn 2019.

The Switch version of Overwatch — due out in autumn 2019 — will include the hero God’s Eye. Other Switch editions of the game will include those that are already out. It will also include all the new DLC maps, which will be added to the game as they release.

If you’re thinking you want to play Overwatch on the Switch, we have some good news. Switch owners will be able to play the most recent and newest version of the game. Plus, there’s the beauty of couch co-op: players will be able to play together online or offline.

“Overwatch is truly a cultural phenomenon, and we are so excited to bring this iconic game to a completely new platform,” said Michael Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Nintendo Switch gives us a terrific opportunity to do just that, by extending the game beyond the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One into a fun and accessible family gaming system.”

There are also some major changes that players will notice. Players will no longer play with a random lobby, but with the players in their current server. They’ll also be able to choose which characters they wish to play, as well as who to fight. Additionally, there’s a play mode option that eliminates the initial deathmatch to concentrate on teamwork instead.

In addition to the new features, Blizzard will be increasing its funds from this release. A total of $20 will go to charities such as Child’s Play and the Entertainment Software Association, which will allow players to choose charities in the Honor system.

Overwatch not only did incredibly well at Nintendo for its newest tournament, but it also broke the record for the best-selling first-person shooter. The game’s two epsiodes, Captain Anthrax’s Day and Ravenheart, each raked in millions of dollars.

It’s also rumored that the game is being fast-tracked for Nintendo Switch. As recently as two months ago, it seemed unlikely that the game would ever make it to the Switch platform.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. PlayStation 4 version will be out August 13. New DLC maps for the game come out as they release. For more information, visit the game’s official website or its Facebook page.
