In-game stats that were originally accessible only to the paid Overwatch League team owners are now being opened up to all fans. Overwatch League season 3 is getting a lot of new meta features in order to catch up to Overwatch’s latest games, which lead to the game shifting gears in June.
In mid-2017, Overwatch League teams went behind closed doors to show more polished statistics. All pros then watched more matches to see how each of their meta setups was performing over a more diverse set of enemy sets, such as using Reinhardt or Hanzo while attacking. Season 3 will be the first time that fans will be able to see full data insights for players of both the league’s first team, the Philadelphia Fusion, and rival teams such as the Los Angeles Valiant. In part, this data will show how different players are performing and which styles are working.
TIMETABLE is also heading the change, which will mean that your Overwatch League heroes and abilities will now be updated when each of the league’s teams play, which should happen on Wednesday, August 14. With the patch, you’ll get new changes to Junkrat’s last save function (it can now be switched off in the cooldown screen), Duomo’s auto damage (it will provide 20-percent damage and can be adjusted on the third play), and Lucio’s and Widowmaker’s exotics (he can now switch between Void and Positive health while being in this latter state.
Wave 4 is currently in development and should be revealed sometime in the future. When it is ready, it will also lead to the release of the new Westcoast map, Pharahpanda, which is based in Hong Kong’s tallest building, the Tai Po Peak. Hopefully, when it’s out, we’ll get to try it out as well.
