A study reveals how much people will pay to read or consume content

Would you pay to consume content?

A new study claims that content marketing pays to create it.

The research, conducted by Soroptimist International of West Contra Costa, asks participants if they would be willing to pay for content marketing, a technique based on curating and sharing a mix of compelling and valuable content to generate an extra bump in search engine rankings, social network engagements, and the like.

The survey found that respondents would pay anything from a modest 50 cents to a whopping $1.50 per visitor.

Reputable websites, brands, and influencers that are posting content and engaging with visitors are able to build sustainable, passionate followers and vice versa.

The study is the first to query consumers on the question of whether or not they’d pay to experience it.

The reasons given ranged from “Being entertained on the web is a privilege, and fans should be able to benefit from it” to “Did you read my content?”
